Install the app
Download from the download page. The installer is lightweight (~80 MB). The AI speech recognition model (~250 MB) downloads automatically the first time you press Start — this requires internet once and takes 2-5 minutes. After that, everything works fully offline.
Model download details — A progress bar will appear showing the download progress. You can cancel at any time using the Cancel button if needed. Internet is only required for this one-time download — after that, everything runs completely offline. If the download fails for any reason, simply press Start again to retry.

macOS: "app is damaged" warning
VoxiPrompter is not yet signed with an Apple Developer certificate. macOS adds a quarantine flag to apps downloaded from the internet, which triggers this warning. The app is safe — all processing happens locally with no network access.
Open Terminal
Find it in Applications → Utilities → Terminal, or press Cmd + Space and type "Terminal".
Run this command
Copy and paste the following into Terminal, then press Enter:
xattr -cr /Applications/VoxiPrompter.app Open VoxiPrompter normally
Double-click VoxiPrompter in Applications. You only need to do this once — future launches will work without any extra steps.
"VoxiPrompter" is damaged and can't be opened.
You should move it to the Trash.
Don't worry — the app isn't actually damaged. This warning will go away once Apple code signing is complete.
Windows: SmartScreen warning
VoxiPrompter is not yet signed with a Microsoft code signing certificate. Windows SmartScreen may show a blue warning when you first run the installer. The app is safe — all processing happens locally.
Click "More info"
When the SmartScreen dialog appears saying "Windows protected your PC", click the "More info" link on the left side of the dialog.
Click "Run anyway"
After clicking "More info", a "Run anyway" button appears at the bottom. Click it to proceed with the installation.
Install normally
The installer will proceed. You only need to bypass SmartScreen once — future launches will work without any warnings.

Allow microphone access
On first launch, your OS will ask for microphone permission. Grant it — all audio stays on your device. The app will auto-detect your default microphone.

Load your script
Click the Script Editor tab in the sidebar. Type, paste, or load a .txt file. Your script saves automatically. The character count shows below the editor.
Press Start and speak
Press Space or click Start Prompter in the header. The AI engine initializes instantly. Start speaking — the highlighted word advances through your script in real time. Click any word in the Live Monitor to jump the cursor there, or use the navigation buttons.
Keyboard shortcuts & navigation
VoxiPrompter has media-player style keyboard shortcuts — no modifier keys needed. These are ignored when you're focused on a text field.

Click-to-jump — click any word in the Live Monitor to instantly jump the cursor to that position. Useful for skipping ahead or going back to a specific line.
Cursor memory — your cursor position is preserved when you stop listening. Next time you press Start, the teleprompter resumes from where you left off.
Keeping VoxiPrompter up to date
VoxiPrompter checks for updates automatically 3 seconds after startup. If an update is available, you'll see a prompt to install it. Updates are downloaded and installed automatically — no manual steps required.
